Job Description

BASIC FUNCTION

Position will be one of the primary people responsible for all aspects of deployment and support of its messaging infrastructure (Groupwise and Exchange). Functions include network administration and some engineering, network server builds and upgrades, network equipment builds and upgrades, project-oriented responsibilities, network documentation, and network admin and engineering support.  Also working with senior staff on all aspects of above.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Assist in supporting current messaging infrastructure.
2. Assist in the possible migration from the current messaging product to Exchange.
3. Assist with file server builds and configurations in Netware , Windows and Active Directory  environments
4. Responsible for network administration functions in Netware ,Windows  and Active Directory environments
   
5. Responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and quality control of network backup operations and documenting backup procedures
6. Assist in the configuration and maintenance of network anti-virus operations and documenting anti-virus policies and procedures
7. Responsible for tracking and allocation of TCP/IP  addresses
8. Assists in maintenance, troubleshooting and escalation of all installed network switches and Routers and wiring closets
9. Responsible for monitoring the status of daily processes such as backups, off-site storage, and virus notifications
10. Assists in providing Help Desk support services as directed
11. Day to Day support and troubleshooting of Rainbows Citrix Environment.
12. Coordinates repairs/moves/adds/changes of existing computer equipment as required
13. Resolves software/hardware/network configuration issues as required
14. Ability to work on multiple projects as assigned by management
15. Develop new strategies for new hardware and software by evaluation of different products
16. Responds to alarm conditions generated by network management software
17. Assists in maintaining file and directory level security permissions for Windows NT and NetWare environments
18.  Complete trouble tickets assigned in heat. 
19. Provide phone support. 

SCOPE

This position is viewed as a mid level position to the existing positions and require knowledge in many different disciplines but primarily Groupwise and or Microsoft Exchange. The candidate needs to be flexible and work with senior staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Training within the computing industry is desirable (CNE, CNA, CCNA, MCP, MCSE)
• Training in Microsoft messaging deployments and support.
• A minimum of 3-5 years experience with network operating systems and administration of Novell Netware 4.11 or better and Windows NT 4.0 or better including Active Directory.
• Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with all levels of employees and outside vendors
• Ability to manage multiple tasks that involve multiple staff members and Escalate as needed.
• Knowledge of Linux would be a plus.
